Values
As a charity, we are guided by Christian principles and believe that every individual is a person of unique value. We want to walk alongside people through challenging times, offering support that empowers them to move toward a full and satisfying life.
Respect
Respect is foundational to fostering a supportive environment where everyone feels valued. At the Cove, respect involves actively listening, being open-minded, and practising kindness in our interactions. This extends to recognising people's needs and differences and ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is key to protecting the dignity of individuals and in ensuring a safe space for people to share their struggles. We hold strictly to GDPR regulations and have signed staff non-disclosure agreements to protect the dignity of all who come to the Cove.
Integrity
We are committed to acting with integrity in all our interactions. We therefore strive to be honest, transparent and ethical in all our dealings and to ensure that our words and actions align with our Christian values. Integrity also means holding ourselves accountable to each other and to those we serve.
Excellence
We are committed to providing the highest possible standard of service to all who come to the Cove. While we recognise our limitations, we are dedicated to continual improvement and actively pursue ongoing professional development and supervision. We also welcome constructive feedback as a tool for growth.
Compassion
As a Christian charity, we embrace a compassionate approach and see this as a Biblical mandate (Ephesians 4:32). We are committed to standing with those who face difficulties and strive to understand the challenges they encounter. Our goal is to offer a safe space for individuals to work through painful experiences and to offer support that equips and helps them to move forward with hope and resilience.
Humility
We uphold the principle of humility through our recognition that we are all valued equally by God. Our role is to support and empower staff and service users rather than to judge or create dependency. This also means acknowledging our limitations, being willing to learn and offering help without expecting recognition.
